Where We Breathe reflects the quiet places we return to — spaces in nature where we find solitude, clarity, and grounding. Inspired by the coastline of Jeffreys Bay, this work speaks more broadly to the landscapes that hold our memories while giving us room to simply be.
Created with black oil paint and acrylic ink on a white wooden canvas, the fine linework traces organic growth and rolling water, allowing openness and restraint to guide the composition. The contrast between rooted forms and moving waves symbolises balance — between stillness and motion, reflection and renewal.
