Lekker by die See is a collaboration between me, Hilde Alet Malan, and my four-year-old son, Kobus.
There is something incredibly special about sharing a canvas with your child. His brushstrokes are completely free — created without expectation, hesitation or fear of making a mistake.
Children remind us that art does not always have to be serious or perfect. Sometimes it can simply be joyful.
This artwork holds a little piece of that joy — colour, sunshine, sea days and the magic of seeing the world through a four-year-old’s eyes.
