Spookasem was created by me, Hilde Alet Malan, together with my four-year-old son, Kobus.
Painting beside him reminds me how incredible children’s art really is. There is no overthinking — just instinct, imagination and complete freedom. Colours are chosen simply because they feel right.
Soft, playful and filled with unexpected colour, Spookasem captures that beautiful childhood world where everything can be bright, sweet and a little bit magical.
